The therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in meaningful healing and growth. I approach therapy through an attachment-focused lens, which means that the trust, safety, and connection we build together are central to the therapeutic process. During our first several sessions, we will get to know one another, explore your story, and clarify your goals for therapy. As our work deepens, you are invited to bring whatever is on your heart—questions, struggles, fears, hopes, and experiences that you would like to better understand. I strive to create a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where you feel safe, respected, and empowered to speak openly about any aspect of your life. There are no topics that are off limits. Together, we will explore your experiences with curiosity, honesty, and compassion while tailoring the therapeutic process to best support your unique needs, goals, and growth. As trust develops, therapy can become a place not only for insight and healing, but also for experiencing a secure and authentic relationship that supports lasting change.
For most clients, weekly sessions provide the consistency needed to build a strong therapeutic foundation, develop momentum, and address concerns in a meaningful and timely way. As therapy progresses and your goals evolve, the frequency of sessions can be adjusted to reflect your needs, growth, and life circumstances.
Because every individual's journey is unique, treatment is tailored to support your specific goals and pace of healing. While some clients seek short-term support around a particular issue, many find value in longer-term therapy, which offers the opportunity for deeper self-understanding, lasting transformation, and sustained personal growth. Whatever your path may look like, we will work collaboratively to determine the level of support that best serves you.
No, I do not accept insurance; this is a fee-for-service practice. Even though I am an out-of-network provider, I can provide a receipt for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. You may also use an HSA/FSA to pay for sessions. Many factors go into insurance claims and reimbursements, and will be specific to your plan and benefit coverage. Please call your insurance provider to learn more about your particular plan.
You may want to ask questions like:
Do I have out of network mental health benefits?
If so, what percentage will be reimbursed to me?
Am I able to use these benefits for telehealth?
What is my deductible for out of network coverage and has it been met?
How do I submit claims for reimbursement?
If applicable, I can provide you with a document called a “superbill” every month upon request that can be submitted to your insurance company. This is basically an invoice that lists specific information on the type of service you received, by whom, and your diagnosis. Insurance will reimburse you for services provided with a "billable diagnosis." We can talk about this in session and discuss the next right steps together.
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice whenever possible. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged the full session fee. Cancellations and scheduling changes may be made by text message, email, or through the client portal. As a one-time courtesy, I will waive the fee for legitimate emergencies only.
You can contact me directly or schedule an appointment through the online booking portal. If you'd like to learn more about my approach or determine whether we're a good fit, I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation to answer your questions. If you're ready to begin, you're welcome to schedule an initial session at your convenience.
Entering into a therapeutic agreement is an important decision. It can take time to build rapport and feel comfortable and confident about the direction we're heading. The truth of the matter is, sometimes we feel raw and exposed during therapy before we actually start to feel better! That can actually be a sign we're making progress and doesn't necessarily mean we're not a good fit.
I encourage my clients to always bring their questions or concerns directly to me so we can have open communication. The more honest we are with one another, the better aligned our interactions will be.
That being said, termination is a part of therapy. Sometimes the client initiates termination, and sometimes the therapist recommends a referral. No matter the circumstance, it is recommended that termination does not happen abruptly. If you're considering terminating therapy, let's have a conversation to discuss the specifics and determine what the next right step is together.
